NFL Sets Playoff Date and Time for Packers vs. 49ers Matchup

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: The Dallas Cowboys are owned by the Green Bay Packers. The San Francisco 49ers are not their property. The Packers will play the 49ers in the playoffs for the third time under head coach Matt LaFleur. Saturday night’s NFC divisional-round game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox.

Following Sunday’s 48-32 victory over the Cowboys, LaFleur said, “Just couldn’t be happier for our guys.” “Obviously, I’m very enthusiastic about the upcoming opportunity to play against one of the top NFL teams in San Francisco. It will be tough for us to do this assignment. Although I’m not sure when we play, I’m expecting it will be during a short week, so we’ll need to recover.

With a 12-5 record, the 49ers were awarded the first seed in the NFC playoffs. They had won five straight games to start the season, then lost three in a row before winning six more. They played their backups in a Week 18 loss to the Rams, lost at home to Baltimore on Christmas, and secured homefield against Washington on New Year’s Eve.

Star players abound on the 49ers. The 49ers, led by MVP contender Brock Purdy, came in third in terms of scoring. They were first in the red zone, second in overall offense, third in rushing offense, and fourth in passing offense.

With a passing rating of 113.0 and 9.64 yards per attempt, Purdy was in first place. Christian McCaffrey, a unanimous All-Pro running back, led the NFL in rushing yards (1,459 total), total yards (2,023 yards), and total touchdowns (21). Tight end George Kittle and receiver Brandon Aiyuk both had receiving yards above 1,000, while out Deebo Samuel had total yards exceeding 1,100.

Defensively, the 49ers ranked third in scoring. They ranked third against the run, eighth overall, and fourteenth against the pass. The top in the league, San Francisco outgained its opponents by 94.5 yards per game. With 132 tackles, undisputed All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner led the club. Nick Bosa added 10.5 sacks, and Charvarius Ward had five of the Niners’ 22 interceptions, which tied a league high.

Following an outstanding effort against the Cowboys, Packers quarterback Jordan Love remarked, “They’re a very talented team.” It all depends on how we return to the office this week, enter the film room, learn about them, and start to work. They make an excellent team. We must return to it and get our bodies back.”
