Thiesing played in the 2023–24 NCAA season with the Ohio State Buckeyes, where he served as an alternate captain and had nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 31 games. He scored a career-high 15 goals last season, which leads all Buckeyes skaters. In the new season of 2021-2022, he set a career high with eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 37 games. He finished third among Buckeyes skaters in scoring.Prior to Thiesing’s tenure with the Buckeyes, he played two games. A season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Green Bay Gamblers, where he had 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points in 94 games.

Prior to that, the Franklin, Tenn. native played for the Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), posting 13 goals and 26 assists for 39 points in 54 games. He added 96 penalty minutes this season. Thiesing’s season earned him All-Rookie second-team honors and he was named to the NAHL’s All-Midwest Rookie Team.Thiesing is likely to join the Bridgeport Islanders, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Islanders, in the ATO. Bridgeport is currently in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with a 20-33-6-1 record and 47 points from 60 games with 12 games remaining..
