Over the course of the last ten or so years, the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams have faced off five times. This past season, the two teams were vying for the final two playoff places, which they ultimately earned. In the past ten years, the Packers have defeated the Rams 4-1.
But according to reports today, one Packers coach will be sticking with the Rams to finish off his career.
Williams’ departure from Green Bay was widely rumored, since the team is going through a number of coaching changes and might potentially be moving to a 4-3 defense. Williams coached cornerbacks for the Cardinals from 2019 to 2022, as well as DBs for the Broncos and Colts, before taking the helm in Green Bay.
The Packers finished 17th in the league in 2023 with an average of 335 passing yards per game allowed. In addition, they gave up 37 throwing touchdowns, which included two playoff contests.
Derrick Ansley, a former defensive coordinator for the Chargers, has joined the Packers as their defensive pass game coordinator, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. The Packers are strengthening their defensive line under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, and they have appointed Anthony Campanile as linebackers coach and run game coordinator.
