SAD NEWS: LEEDS KEY PLAYER ABOUT TO LOSE HIS CARRIE DUE TO THE INJURY’…….

Leicester City, Leeds United’s competitors for promotion from the Championship, have gained significant momentum in their pursuit of an instant return to the Premier League, albeit not without controversy.

Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City marked the league leaders Enzo Maresca’s return to Championship play. The Foxes now sit ten points clear of second-place Ipswich Town and twelve ahead of Leeds, who are in fourth place. Both Southampton, in third position, and Ipswich, who are 11 points behind, have played one fewer game.

Swansea was, however, incensed at the circumstances that resulted in Stephy Mavididi’s penalty kick, which gave Leicester their second goal, in the 69th minute. After Patson Daka raced clear and entered the area under pressure from Nathan Wood, who tried to stop the Leicester attacker with a sliding challenge, the Foxes were given a spot kick.

Without any VAR, referee Keith Stroud pointed to the spot but replays appeared to show that Wood had made no contact with either Daka or the ball. Mavididi then stepped up to slam home the spot kick to double Leicester’s lead following Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s opener in the third minute.
