Leeds United make loan approach to sign ………..

In the January transfer window, Leeds United has launched an attempt to capture Everton defender Ben Godfrey on a loan.

The Toffees defender has been strongly linked to the Whites this month, and it appears they have now submitted a formal loan offer.

The center back’s departure from Goodison Park has been approved by Sean Dyche, the manager of the Toffees, according to a report from The Sun.

This month, Daniel Farke hopes to strengthen the defense after Luke Ayling departed the team to take a loan deal at Middlesbrough. Daiki Hashioka, a defender for Japan, has been linked to the Whites, but it appears he is going to sign with Luton Town instead.

Godfrey, who makes £68k a week, has had difficulty getting into the starting lineup this year. The Toffees are prepared to let go of the 25-year-old this month in an effort to lower their payroll costs and strengthen their position in relation to FFP regulations.

Leeds only intends to sign him on loan, but they also have other targets, such as Nat Phillips, a defender for Liverpool.

This month, Godfrey was rumored to be joining Atalanta; however, the club believed he would be too costly.

To play consistently, he needs to get out of Goodison Park, and Leeds can give him an opportunity. They now hold the fourth position in the Championship and hope to return to the Premier League the following year.

Godfrey is an excellent defender with a wealth of expertise. Due to his struggles with injuries in recent seasons, he has fallen in the hierarchy. Despite the fact that he plays center defense most of the time, a transfer to Elland Road would be beneficial for him.
