Ben Johnson, a defender for West Ham United, is a player Leeds United is interested in signing. They may try to do so during the January transfer window. After speaking with GIVEMESPORT, journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that Daniel Farke’s team is eager to close a deal this month.

Djed Spence was returned to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the window following a loan period at Elland Road. Under Farke, the former Middlesbrough right-back found it difficult to have a significant impact, which has now left the Whites lacking a full-back. Later in the month, their depth problems worsened as Luke Ayling left to sign a loan with Middlesbrough, a Championship team.

Because of this, the Yorkshire team is probably going to need a new right-back before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. Johnson of West Ham is now a possibility, and Leeds is considering shortlisting him to bolster their defense.

Johnson is the target of Leeds in January.
Leeds is interested in taking on West Ham right-back Johnson on a temporary loan for the balance of the season, according to The Athletic. Leeds may try to sign the Hammers defender to a long-term contract in the summer because his current one expires at the end of the current campaign. Since entering the academy, Johnson has had difficulty making an impression at the London Stadium, therefore the 23-year-old would probably be interested in

Football Insider reports that West Ham will accept a payment of approximately £1 million in exchange for Johnson leaving the team on loan in January. It is becoming less likely that the 23-year-old will stay with the Hammers past the summer after turning down several contract extension offers from the capital club. Rangers of the Scottish Premiership and Sheffield United, meanwhile, would put Leeds in competition for his services.

Johnson’s flexibility may make him an appealing proposition to Farke, as he has played on both sides of defense during his time at West Ham. Johnson has had a difficult few years with the Hammers, but a new beginning might be just what he needs to revive his career.
