NEW NOW:An update on the condition of the Red Sox coaching staff is provided by Alex Cora..

With only a few weeks till spring training begins, the Boston Red Sox faithful had great expectations going into the summer and has only been met with disappointment.

The ownership group’s standing in Boston has never been worse, and whether it is justified or not, Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow is already facing criticism from both the media and fans.

Luckily, the Red Sox may profit from the unusually sluggish offseason as there are still a lot of impact free players available. After months of inaction, at least one knowledgeable member of the media is anticipating a splash, despite rumors of a reduced payroll during Winter Weekend.

On a live broadcast of Bleacher Report on Wednesday, JonHeyman  of the New York Post stated, “I think the Red Sox still have a big move in them.”

Heyman continued by noting that the Red Sox would be Blake Snell’s most likely destination if Jordan Montgomery did not wind up with the Texas Rangers. Heyman also listed Boston as a possible suitor for Snell.

Heyman touched on a few more league issues before offering one last passionate and upbeat assessment of the Red Sox predicament.
