Sources: Leeds United open preliminary talks with Everton over Ben Godfrey loan-to-buy deal of $200 million …..

Godfrey, a 25-year-old center back who has battled for playing time this season—making just three appearances across all competitions, including just one Premier League start—has received Sean Dyche’s approval to depart Goodison Park this month in an effort to save money.

Godfrey joined the Toffees in 2020, for about £25 million, and has made 80 appearances. However, since missing the first part of the previous season due to a broken fibula, Godfrey has failed to get regular playing time.

This month, as they aim for immediate promotion back to the Premier League, Daniel Farke’s team is excited to welcome new players.

The manager is eager for further depth because Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk have started the bulk of the Whites’ league games this season.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Leeds United has begun initial discussions over a loan-to-buy agreement for Ben Godfrey, an Everton player.

The defender’s transfer to Atalanta fell through earlier this month, therefore the Yorkshire giants are now focused on signing him.

Burnley is stacked with options in the wide areas, so Benson has only made four Premier League appearances. A new signing will only limit his playing time further. Burnley will need to move quickly to finalize a deal, though, as Fabrizio Romano reports Nottingham Forest is also in advanced discussions about a loan move for the 19-year-old.
