One of the top candidates in the transfer portal, former Alabama safety Caleb Downs, is headed to the Big Ten. There are several claims that Downs has committed to Ohio State, the first of which was reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

For the Crimson Tide last season, Downs was a five-star prospect, and he lived up to expectations. He instantly took Alabama’s starting safety position and held it.

In 2023, he recorded 107 tackles, which led Alabama. The Shaun Alexander Award, which is given to the best college football rookie, was won by him.
