Ronnie Sullivan finally reached No.7.Widely regarded as the most talented snooker player of all time Sullivan certainly cemented his status as the game’s greatest player by defeating Judd Trump 18-13 to win a record seventh world title on Monday.”This is probably the best result I’ve ever had, Sullivan said after sharing a long, tearful hug with Trump at the end of the final at the Crucible Theater in Sheffield..

The 46-year-old Englishman joins Stephen Hendry in holding the current record, adding to his world championship titles in 2001, ’04, ’08, ’12, ’13 and Hendry won it all in the 1990s..

Sullivan also won a record seven titles at both the Masters and the British Championships, the other two so-called major snooker titles..

A right-hander who also thrives as a left-hander, Sullivan has the most career batting points (39), is the only player to reach more than 1,000 competitive centuries and has made 147 maximum breaks in competitive play, more than anyone else..

But seven world titles have long been the goal of Sullivan and a 12-5 lead over Trump after two of the last two and a possible four sessions saw him on his way..
Trump, the 2019 champion and also from England, recovered in the afternoon session to twice come within three frames of Sullivan..
Sullivan kept his cool and had an 85-ball break before breaking down in tears in Trump’s arms.”It was a pleasure to share a table with him,” said Trump, who grew up idolizing Oand#039;Sullivan.
“It’s an incredible achievement and he’s the best player of all time.”Hendry was in the commentary box at the Crucible and said it was a privilege to share the record with Oand#039;Sullivan.”I’m actually surprised it took him this long to get to number 7,” Hendry said..
