Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the Broncos, is thought to not be with the team for very long. Wilson also seemed to think so.
Wilson’s estate in Denver is up for sale, according to Thomas Gounley of the Denver Post.
The home was purchased by Wilson and his spouse, Ciara, following his 2022 move from the Seahawks to the Broncos. The 20,00-square-foot house was purchased for $25 million, which was a record for the neighborhood.
Wilson and his spouse are reportedly giving tours and taking offers for the house right now.
It is not shocking. Wilson’s $37 million basic salary in 2025 becomes fully guaranteed, hence it seems likely that he will be sacked on or before March 17. He already has a completely guaranteed salary deal for 2024 at $39 million.
While making the rounds at the Super Bowl last week, head coach Sean Payton hinted that Wilson might be a member of the team in 2024. But why would Payton allow another $37 million to become fully guaranteed next month if he didn’t have enough faith in Wilson to allow him to finish the season as the starting quarterback?
Wilson’s release is therefore only a question of time. And it seems like a matter of time until the mansion he moved into when he came to Denver two years ago is put up for sale.
