A drag racing driver died of head injuries in a crash during the NHRA SuperNationals qualifying round at a New Jersey racecourse on Friday, according to state police. The motorist, identified as Neal Parker, 58, of Millville, N.J., wrecked at Raceway Park in Old Bridge, Sgt. Stephen Jones explained. Spectator David Farrah of Manalapan claimed it looked the motorist was unable to halt.

Farrah stated, “It appeared that the chute simply did not open, and he was unable to stop.” “The car had just been crushed.” “It was tragic.”
