A memorial service for Everett Thompson, who died at the age of 72 on January 14, 2011, in Simpsonville, SC., will be held Sunday, September 4, at the 103d OVI grounds, 5501 E. Lake Rd., Sheffield Lake, at 2 p.m. Presiding will be Jeanette Bemis, Mr. Thompson’s cousin.

Everett Thompson was the son of the late James Chandler and Margaret (Bemis) Thompson, of Lorain. He graduated from the Clearview school system and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #3.

He had been the plant manager for Precision Valve in Simpsonville.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra (Roe), two daughters, Kimberley (Michael) Dravenstott of Smithville, and Allison (Robert) Verostek, of Greenville, SC., sister, Delight (Brad) Greenberg of Okemos, MI. and brother, Malcolm (Jean) Thompson, of Lorain.
