Sheffield United star Ben Brereton Diaz has insisted he has no problems with Chile coach Ricardo Gareca, despite the two seemingly being in disagreement earlier this year.
Diaz has been speaking to ESPN in Chile regarding his pride playing for the national side and life under Gareca after he took charge in January.
The Sheffield United star made his debut for his country in June 2021 and hasn’t looked back sine, making 29 appearances since then and bagging seven goals, including one against Argentina in 2022.
He’s expected to be a key player under Gareca moving forwards but the new Chile coach has made it clear on several occasions that may not be the case, because Diaz does not speak Spanish.
The manager has publicly stated that makes working with the Sheffield United man a difficult process, although he was forced to eat humble pie after similar comments when injuries forced him to call Diaz up anyway.
It’s been suggested the forward has been working on the matter since to help ease potential tensions but now he insists there aren’t any major problems to overcome anyway, despite it appearing to be the opposite from the outside.
