A number of players are out of contract, while other loan players will return to their parent clubs. On top of that, a couple of sales are likely to be needed to the cushion the blow of relegation.

Of course, among the players out of contract are a number of senior players who have been around the club for some time now.

The likes of Oli McBurnie, George Baldock, Wes Foderingham and John Egan are all set to see their deals expire, and there is little sign of new contracts being sorted just yet.

And according to the respected journalist Alan Nixon, Antalyaspor.

Antalyaspor want to sign Oli McBurnie from Sheffield United

According to Nixon, the Turkish side are keen to take advantage of McBurnie’s situation at United and want to offer him a deal at the end of the season.

Chris Wilder spoke about McBurnie before the weekend and believes the striker wants to remain at Bramall Lane.

However, with no new deal sorted yet McBurnie is free to look elsewhere and a move abroad is something that was always going to come his way.

Quite whether he decides to take that move, remains to be seen.

McBurnie has a big decision to make

In terms of McBurnie’s personal life, he recently spoke of his brother’s illness, while his partner is also expecting their child. A move to Turkey, then, might not fit in terms of timing.

On the flipside, McBurnie could well decide a move away and a clean break is what’s needed.

Of course, we wouldn’t want to suggest what personal circumstances dictate for the striker and are merely theorising here.
