The Atlanta Braves played their 12th spring training game against the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon. It’s not possible during the regular season, but this afternoon’s game ended in a 6-6 tie. Although there was no winner, the Braves had some important takeaways from this ball game.

Let’s take a look at them all.Fans shouldn’t be shocked by this move, but one of the Braves’ top prospects is headed to minor league camp despite not committing to spring training so far. Hurston Waldrep pitched 2.1 scoreless innings against Pittsburgh on Friday and was sent to minor league camp immediately after the game.Waldrep seems to be hitting this spring after 4.1 innings and 5 K. But Waldrep also walked four batters, so he still has some time in Gwinnett to continue and work on his command.

Max Fried also made his second spring training and it did ‘t goes almost as well as his first appearance. . Fried allowed 5 hits, 4 earned runs and one home run in his three innings. Still, it’s a good reminder for panic attacks that Fried had a 6.43 ERA in 2022 spring training, but finished second in the NL Cy Young Award during the regular season.Brave catcher Sean Murphy was added back to the lineup. for the first time in over a week because of the stomach bug he’s been fighting for the past week while I’m driving. He quickly collected two hits in three ABs to make him 4-9 in spring training. With 41 players remaining in major league camp, we can expect more and more players to be in the lineup more and more often..
