The Los Angeles Angels wanted to significantly improve their starting rotation going into the summer. But as the Halos enter the first few games of Spring Training, they haven’t added any significant players yet.
For now, they will rely on their arms being better than they were a year ago. Although the front office did bring some diversity to the table, there are a number of players who will be vying for the top spot. Chase Silseth, a right-hander, is one of them and he’ll probably be fighting for a position in the backside rotation. Before suffering a bizarre accident that left him stuck in the head with a baseball, Silseth had a respectable season. He was absent for the majority of the season’s conclusion.

In his comeback, he faced the Oakland A’s and went four innings, striking out three hitters while giving up one run on two hits. After a great finish to the year, Silseth talked about his optimism going into the new one.
For me, that was a huge, huge, huge confidence boost, Silseth remarked. “You acquire confidence for the next excellent squad when you pitch against one good team. And when I just stayed inside of myself and didn’t try to blow it out, I proved that I could do it. I can bring folks into the zone with my material. To access all of my terrible stuff, I only need to go up in the count.”
Pitched was Silseth.
