Another week—Tuesday or Wednesday—we’ll be in gatherings with possession, and I anticipate that we’re progressing to know decently rapidly (what we’re doing with Wilson),” Broncos head coach said Tuesday. “I would expect it being inside the following two weeks.”
Payton and common chief George Paton met with correspondents ahead of the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Paton hadn’t talked freely since his end-of-season press conference in January. Payton’s as it were open comments since at that point were in pre-Super Bowl interviews.
Whereas not one or the other Paton nor Payton was willing to say that the Broncos are moving on from Wilson, their tone demonstrated that his flight is on the way.
“We need to see the whole landscape,” Paton said. “We had to urge through our draft meetings. We had to urge through our free operator gatherings and evaluate with what we have. We fair need to urge through the method. Sean must see all of these quarterbacks and the coaches got to see all of these quarterbacks some time recently we make an educated decision.”
Indeed Payton concedes that there’s no way to know for beyond any doubt which quarterbacks will container out and which ones won’t.
“Historically talking, we’ve had calm, effective quarterbacks and we’ve had candid, effective quarterbacks,” Payton said. “We’ve had tall and brief [effective quarterbacks]. So there are a part of things that make you get it shapes and sizes and identity characteristics, but there are a few constants that go with fruitful players at that position.”
