Hideki Matsuyama won the Genesis Invitational, giving him a $4 million reward after an incredible comeback from six shots behind the lead. The Japanese golfer’s victory was his first on the PGA Tour since January 2022.
While everyone is celebrating Matsuyama’s incredible win, it’s important to remember that every competitor took home a sizable prize. Will Zalatoris and Luke List completed the group of players who had won more than $1 million, coming in behind Matsuyama’s purse. At the Genesis Invitational, they shared second place with a score of -14.

Tiger Woods had his first appearance on the PGA Tour since April of last year, but he was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to illness, so he was not able to profit from the competition. In spite of his erratic, one-over 72 in the opening round on Thursday, Woods made five birdies, six bogeys, and an unusual one-shot bogey.
The legendary golfer explained the miss-hit away as a back spasm. He opened the second round with a birdie, but Gary Woodland, his playing companion, later said that Woods didn’t look to be at his best. After it was revealed that Woods had made several trips to the restroom, he was forced to retire by the seventh hole. Tour rules official Pete Dachisen had to wheel Woods back to the clubhouse.
