Since it was announced last month that Dr. Zaf Iqbal will be joining Arsenal this summer, the Eagles have been looking for a candidate to take over the position. Ahmad, who has been a member of QPR since 2016, is now expected to replace Iqbal at Palace. Two years after starting with the Rs as their club doctor, he was elevated to head of medicine. He has been in charge of performance and medicine in west London since 2022. Qbal, on the other hand, had worked at Tottenham and Liverpool before joining Palace eight years ago. After Gary O’Driscoll, the head of medical services, departed to join Manchester United last year, Arsenal tried to hire him. O’Driscoll is currently in charge of sports medicine at United.
Oliver Glasner will take over as Palace’s new manager in lieu of Roy Hodgson, who is reportedly doing well after collapsing in front of players and staff on Thursday during a training session and being sent to the hospital for examinations.
Prior to Palace’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on March 2, Glasner was scouting there on Saturday. Over the weekend, Sky Germany revealed that the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager had reached an agreement to sign a deal at Selhurst Park that would last until 2026 with an additional year’s option.
