In the midst of persistent speculation that he won’t play for the Broncos in 2022, quarterback Russell Wilson has reportedly been taking offers and showing prospective buyers around his home, as reported by Business Den. Wilson and his spouse, Ciara, paid $25 million for the property in April 2022, following their trade to the Broncos from the Seattle Seahawks, shattering the previous record for the most expensive home sale in the Denver area, which stood at $16 million.
According to a prior listing, the 20,000 square foot, five-acre home features four bedrooms, twelve bathrooms, offices, and walk-in closets for each of the owners. The property also features a basketball court, a guest suite with its own kitchen, and a 2,590-square-foot indoor swimming pool.
‘Almost no one in the league,’ according to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold, expects Wilson, a 35-year-old quarterback, to return to the Broncos after a difficult two seasons in Denver.
Due to what Broncos head coach Sean Payton called a “football decision,” the nine-time Pro Bowler was benched during the season’s final two games. However, many conjectured that the move was made to protect Wilson from injury because he would have been guaranteed $37 million for the 2025 season if he sustained an injury and failed a physical by the fifth day of the new league year this March.
