The Lakers and Hawks’ trade negotiations for Dejounte Murray appear to have reached a standstill in recent weeks. According to reports, the Lakers have already presented Atlanta with their best offer, which includes D’Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Murray’s draft compensation. However, the Hawks’ lack of desire to sign D’Lo has proven to be a barrier.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Nets are being considered as a serious contender for Russell. They may also be the third team involved in a Lakers-Hawks trade for Murray, with Brooklyn providing the Hawks with future compensation in exchange for Russell.
“The holdup is the Hawks’ evident disinterest in bringing D’Angelo Russell back, as has been widely reported for quite some time. As a result, Brooklyn is regularly mentioned by league sources as a Russell candidate here. The Lakers guard needs to find another landing spot.”
