The Whites’ lone defeat came last night as they defeated Plymouth Argyle 4-1 in extra time. They have now won seven of their eight games across all competitions.
Daniel Farke had pretty nearly established a starting eleven by Christmas. Some periphery players were forced to be patient since he would be unwilling to modify it, even in the busiest of schedules.
But the start of the new year has given several other players on the team a chance to show off their skills; Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo, and Ilia Gruev are three who have really stepped to the forefront.

Though the first two have scored goals and provided assists, Gruev has possibly stood out the most thanks to a number of excellent displays in the middle of midfield.

However, Gruev has played for more than ninety minutes since Leeds defeated Birmingham City 3-0 on New Year’s Day, and his performances have only gotten better.
His pass completion percentage has only fallen below 90% in one of those contests, according to Sofa Score, but his most remarkable skill is probably his ability to win back possession through tackles and duels.
