Manager admits his 26-year-old player could leave today, after ……..

With only one deal made thus far in the January window, the Whites have until 11 p.m. tonight to finalize any outstanding business.

Leeds’ defense is still their first priority in light of the losses of Djed Spence and Luke Ayling, but Manuel Benson’s move to Elland Road may now be possible.

According to reports, Benson and Vincent Kompany had discussions earlier this week to discuss his future, and it was decided that he will remain at Turf Moor for the remainder of the year.

Nevertheless, Benson was once again left out of the Burnley team that was defeated 3-1 at Manchester City yesterday night. Following the game, Kompany gave journalist Mike McGrath an update on Benson’s future.

“There were rumors that he was going on loan. It’s normal that he wants to play, and we’ll see how things work out,” he stated.

This is a pretty abrupt shift of circumstances, especially in light of the earlier in the week reports noted above, and it may be the indication Leeds needs to move forward and close a deal.
