Leeds could forget him by signing another Burnley star because …….

Undoubtedly, Leeds United has had a difficult transfer window thus far. They have missed out on players like David Brooks and Fabio Carvalho to Championship rivals Southampton and Hull City, two significant omissions that will always stick in their memories.

Leeds’ attempt to sign Burnley winger Manuel Benson has been shelved, further damaging the west Yorkshire team’s ego as worries about the lack of transfer activity at Elland Road mount. The Whites were once in the driver’s seat, able to lure the explosive Clarets winger to Elland Road before deadline day.

Farke’s team will still make another attempt to sign this Burnley defender despite the Clarets’ rejection of Benson; Leeds is still eager to add a right-back to their roster before the transfer market closes later today.

Leeds hasn’t yet made progress in this area of the pitch, despite the fact that the Whites expressed interest in a number of right-backs in January.

The Championship promotion-chasers may decide to return for long-term target Connor Roberts rather than recklessly going after someone fresh so close to the deadline, given the naturally nervous atmosphere at Elland Road.

For the most part of this season, Archie Gray, a 17-year-old who was thrust into a defensive position despite being a natural midfielder, has been Leeds’ starting right-back.

Although Gray has performed admirably, it would be wise to replace him with Roberts, a natural right-back who has previously dominated the Championship.
