DONE DEAL: LEEDS UNITED HAVE SIGNED A 26 YEAR OLD PLAYER AND……..

Tonight, Leeds United might have gotten a helping hand in their pursuit of one of their possible transfer targets.

The clock is now firmly against the Whites, who have yet to sign a single player in the January window despite having little over 24 hours remaining.

Leeds has a fair notion of their possibilities of signing some of their top targets because of the full schedule of Premier League games that are taking place this midweek.

Ben Godfrey played 90 minutes for Everton last night, just his second league game of the season, a positive sign that Leeds is still planning to sign him despite their earlier push for a deal to recruit him.

But by the same token, Leeds should be encouraged that Manuel Benson has been altogether excluded from Burnley’s squad for tonight’s trip to Manchester City.

It was reported just the day before that Benson had discussed his future with manager Vincent Kompany and had decided to finish the season at Turf Moor.

Nevertheless, just a few hours prior, Kompany had made it known that he would honor the decisions of those of his bench players who wished to depart in order to receive more playing time. The men in question were Benson and Connor Roberts, another target for Leeds.
