Leeds United offer contract to Daiki Hashioka as fee agreed to …………

On Sunday, January 28, the Belgian journalist revealed via X that St. Truiden and Leeds had reached an agreement, with Leeds offering a four-and-a-half-year contract to lure the player away from Club Brugge and many other Bundesliga teams.

According to David Van den Broeck, there had been reports earlier on Sunday, January 28, that discussions were “well advanced” between the two sides, with the full-back eager to transfer to Elland Road.

Daniel Farke’s full-back position may be filled by Hashioka, as the team has not yet found a replacement for Luke Ayling and Djed Spence.

At Elland Road, full-back is one of the positions with the least depth in the team, particularly considering that players like Junior Firpo, Jamie Shackleton, and Sam Byram have all had injuries at various stages of the season.

Hashioka’s offensive prowess makes him an ideal match for Leeds. Throughout his tenure at Urawa Red Diamonds and St Truiden, the defender has made 187 appearances and recorded eight goals and 21 assists in his professional career.

Farke’s offensive style of play will be well suited to his propensity to jet up and down the wing. Firpo, the most recent defender to join in on the action, with two assists in his previous four games.

Moving to Leeds might help him relaunch his career, especially at the international level, as he was not able to play for Japan at the Asian Cup this year.
