Breaking news: Leeds United are planing on signing Manuel Benson as an agreement ……..
The online news source stated on January 27 that City and Burnley had a verbal agreement for Benson to join the team on loan until the end of the season. However, that agreement doesn’t seem to have stood up, as the Belgian hasn’t made up his mind and is drawing interest from other Championship teams, including Leeds.
First, on January 18, Belgian writer Sacha Tavolieri revealed Leeds’ interest in the player. According to Tavolieri, the Whites were planning for Benson to replace Wilfried Gnonto, who they anticipated to sign a contract with West Ham United.
Leeds continues to lead the way for Benson, who has been told he can leave Turf Moor, despite expectations that Gnonto will sign a new contract at Elland Road rather than leave the team this month. Tavolieri revealed in an update this week (January 25) that the Whites were now “pushing” to sign the forward.
Benson played in three of Burnley’s opening five games following their promotion back to the Premier League, but he has subsequently battled for playing time as Vincent Kompany’s team adjusts to life in the top division.
Benson is still a talented player, though, and he is familiar with the Championship. The 26-year-old led Burnley to victory in the previous season with 13 goals and three assists.
