BREAKING NEWS: Leeds coach has terminated his contract of $50 million ……….
After entering the competition for Everton defender Ben Godfrey, Leeds United is in negotiations with Everton, but Alex Crook reports that there will be some obstacles to overcome.
The talkSPORT reporter stated [25 January] in an interview with GiveMeSport that the Whites are “definitely” one of the teams interested in recruiting Godfrey from Goodison Park, although Sheffield United and other clubs abroad will also be vying for his services.
The 26-year-old center back’s contract only has 18 months left, therefore it’s known that the Toffees would prefer a permanent deal over a loan arrangement, unless an agreement can be reached on a contract extension to maintain the player’s worth.
They, along with Sheffield United and, I believe, a few foreign teams, are among the teams interested in Godfrey, he declared.
The problem is that he only has 18 months left on his contract. In order to preserve his worth, I believe Everton would prefer to sell him, or if they decide to lend him money, he will need to sign a new contract.
Thus, I believe those discussions are taking place right now.
This possible transaction appears to have a lot of moving aspects, which makes the move considerably more complicated than Leeds could manage on its own.
