Snooker bosses ‘wanted Ronnie O’Sullivan to lose’ as legend’s dad continues ……..

Remarkably, Ronnie O’Sullivan’s father said that when his son qualified for the World Open in China, people like Barry Hearn would have been content for his son to lose. The ‘Rocket’ faced Alfie Burden at the Barnsley Metrodome only days after defeating Judd Trump to win the World Grand Prix championship in Leicester.

And to tie the match at 3-3, Burden produced an incredible 104 break, putting the world No. 1 to the test. O’Sullivan, though, maintained his poise to win the following two frames and secure his place in the final 64 in Yushan.

The event is scheduled for March 18–24, which will further tax O’Sullivan’s already full schedule. He has previously said that he will not be competing in the forthcoming Welsh Open and German Masters, but he is scheduled to compete in two important invitationals, the Tour Championship in Manchester (April 1–7) and a prestigious event in Saudi Arabia (March 4-6).

These activities serve as a preamble to the Sheffield World Championship, which gets underway on April 20. At the Crucible, O’Sullivan intends to make even more history by attempting to become the first player to win the most prestigious tournament in sports eight times.

And now, apparently furious that his son was forced to qualify for the World Open, Ronnie Sr. has charged that the administrators of the sport not only want him to lose, but are also hurting his form by assigning him too much work. He posted on social media, saying, “Baz Earner (Hearn) would have been absolutely over the moon if Ronnie got beat.”
