The father of Ronnie O’Sullivan made another blatant jab at snooker great Barry Hearn.
The Rocket is still in high spirits following his thrilling triumph over Judd Trump in the World Snooker Grand Prix. O’Sullivan, 48, will have to put an end to his festivities quickly though, as he must play Alfie Burden in the qualifying round of the World Open, which takes place in Yushan, China from March 18 to 24.
For someone like O’Sullivan, it’s just another illustration of how there is no rest for the wicked. Ronnie Sr., the father of the World No. 1 ranking, resorted to social media to express his disapproval of Hearn and the World Snooker Tour, in case it wasn’t already evident.
He posted an image of the snooker icon with a cycling helmet on and a coat with checks in red, black, grey, and white. “Getting ready for Barnsley tomorrow,” he wrote after that. Moped is fired up and prepared to play in a China qualifying match. Beautiful jubbly. Thank you, WST and Bazzer.”
In case his annoyance wasn’t evident enough, he added: “It’s ridiculous to win a major competition and then be granted a day to recuperate. Then, in order to qualify for the competition in China, go to Barnsley for one game without any sleep, rest, or preparation. It is not at all excellent.
