Sad News: Liam Cooper club captain was found dead in his apartment early hours of………..

This season, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has favored the center-back combination of Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon, a loanee from Spurs, at Elland Road; the two have played more than 4,000 minutes together. With 637 minutes under his belt, club captain Liam Cooper has also contributed, although Charlie Cresswell has all but disappeared from the first team picture.

Since making a late substitute appearance in a 1-0 victory over QPR at the beginning of October, Cresswell has made no appearances for Leeds in any competition. His last Championship start occurred in a 1-0 loss to Birmingham City in August. In a statement earlier this month, Farke said that the Englishman had lacked concentration and expressed dissatisfaction with his standing in the defensive hierarchy.

The 21-year-old may walk on from the team if the management continues to have that opinion, since they have opted not to choose him. Ben Godfrey has surfaced as a potential contender since Farke is “adamant” that Leeds should have four veteran center-backs in their lineup. This might allow room for a new face.

Leeds and Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United are interested in Godfrey at Everton, according to Italian publication Calciomercato. According to reports, both teams are “on the trail” of the former Norwich player and may intervene to take him away from Atalanta, a Serie A squad.

They also have to contend with increased rivalry from Godfrey’s longtime supporters, AC Milan, who now hold third position in Serie A. Milan would ideally like to recruit Clement Lenglet, who is presently on loan from Barcelona at Aston Villa, but his salary may be an immovable barrier.
