News Now:First time ever Keane opened the scoring for Preston with………………

By defeating the Lilywhites, Leeds United avenged their 2-1 loss at Deepdale on Boxing Day. The Whites’ mini-slump began with that Championship loss.

For the host team Whites, the first half did not go as expected. Will Keane gave Preston the lead with a clumsy attempt at goal after just two minutes had passed. Even though it was a mess, Keane’s strike was sufficient to defeat two Leeds United players in the process. It put the visitors ahead and earned him his ninth goal of the year.

However, the lead was not going to stay for very long. After a just five minutes, Junior Firpo grabbed a Crysencio Summerville pass and skillfully crossed the ball to the back post. Rising like a salmon, Dan James calmly planted a header beyond David Cornell’s dejected dive.

Summerville is continuing to be a threat to the opponent in addition to being consistent. He was a continual danger and saw a lot of possession (6.3%) for Leeds United, according to WhoScored’s match stats. In addition, he finished six of his eight dribble attempts, remaining a steady threat on the wing.

Summerville not only skillfully dribbled past opponents but also created four shooting opportunities, three of which were blocked. Overall, it was a clean performance from a guy who is clearly a step above the Championship level.

He will be looking to go on in similar spirit on Wednesday night when Norwich City comes to Elland Road.
