Leeds United revenge underlined by dugout explosion after four weeks of ……….

The greatest place to serve revenge is frigid, on a bed of crushed time-wasting, under falling January ice, with a side order of late tackles. The 94th minute saw an explosion from the home dugout all over the ground, indicating that Leeds United and Preston North End were still very much in love at Elland Road.

The Whites have been mulling over what happened at Deepdale on Boxing Day for the last twenty-six days. Thoughts of other games and subjects have come and gone, the unfairness of that Preston defeat has lingered.

Although Illan Meslier erred by giving Preston the response they desired, the theatrics surrounding the incident and the deception used to have the goalie sent off irked United. Farke even made a suggestion following Sunday’s victory at Elland Road that there could have been some annoyance with the Boxing Day celebrations held at home.

This week’s training benefited from it, albeit it wasn’t the only thing that did. The unbelievably awful week that Jaidon Anthony had really heightened the emotions around events in West Yorkshire.

Referee David Webb never shackled the needle, and it was always close to the surface. The man in the center gave a mediocre performance that never established clear boundaries or made it clear what would and would not be permitted. All ten yellow cards mentioned.

The tone was established by Ali McCann’s shoulder charge into Daniel James’s armpit. Crysencio Summerville received very little protection during the afternoon and received a warning when he gave Jordan Storey a stick thirty seconds after his own pleas were denied.
