He can run all day Dan James says Leeds have a player who simply doesn’t get tired

This season, the youthful midfield player for Leeds has been spectacular. He has occasionally played right-back out of position and exudes an older, wiser appearance.

Even at just 17 years old, this young man has a bright future ahead of him, and James, in an interview with the Official EFL Podcast, has nothing but admiration for the rising talent.

James claims that Gray has an amazing engine and can go all day, and that at times, he truly recalls him of Aaron Ramsey.

“Yes, without a doubt. I remember thinking what a player Archie was when I saw him for the first time when he was 15 or 16 years old. His movement off the ball made me think of Ramsey’s off-ball movements; he can run all day and is a strong player. This year, when I returned, he had grown up, although he still has a lot of his childlike qualities, which works to his advantage because he is fearless, intelligent, and enjoyable to play with and care for. James remarked, “He’s been outstanding, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he won Team of the Year in a role that he hasn’t played in his career.”

Gray should definitely not even be playing U21 football at this age, yet he is performing admirably at the senior level for one of the greatest clubs in the nation despite a ton of pressure.

Even at such a young age, Gray has a certain something special about him, and it’s amazing that he can still shine despite playing in such an unusual position.
