How real is the threat of Harbaughand. leaving After interviews with the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons? 2.) Does he request andquot;immunity clauseandquot; contract to stay in michigan? And 3.) Who will replace him in Ann Arbor if he goes to the league?Andquot;
The 3R Reportandquot; the last parts; shared details of Harbaughand’s salary demands and insight into NFL front office situations he might find attractive. Based on that and other information, Webb assesses how worried Michigan should be about losing its coach to the pros.
“I think it’s a higher threat level than last season,” Webb said. “I think it’s at the Minnesota level. It was after the 2021 season. I think (Harbaugh) went into that interview thinking he was going to get the job. It turned into a real interview and things fell apart for some reason.
But I think at that moment he really thought he was leaving. And I think (his interest in returning to the NFL) is because he won a championship. He did everything he said he was going to do (at Michigan) and he has the same dream of winning a Super Bowl..
“I think Michigan fans … maybe even some managers … are left thinking that something that could have been done would have put him out of the NFL spotlight forever.
Don’t think that’s going to happen. Even if Jim Harbaugh stays .at Michigan and signs a lucrative contract extension that will make him the highest paid coach in all of college football… it’s on the table … even if that extension is signed, I think we’ll be back here next year to talk about it, (assuming the NFL is interested and he’s listening. Because he has a parallel dream and he’s proven that he can).
In many places and with many coaches, it would be so distracting that it would decrease your performance (and prevent you from getting results), obviously not for Jim Harbaugh. Heand has been in the NFL in each of the last three seasons.
All they’ve done in that span is beat Ohio State three straight, win three straight Big 10 championships for the first time in program history, and win a national championship. So, he showed that even if that NFL buzz continues, even if that parallel dream and the door is left open for that, he can still be at a high level at Michigan.”So, (Michigan) should definitely be concerned.
I still think they have a good chance of keeping him, but the threat is real. And if an NFL team is willing to give him the combination of money he’s looking for and the level from examination I think he probably wants it, then I think he will..
Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Chris Harris is looking forward to the return of safety Derwin James this season, a player he says could give his team the best secondary in the AFC. Harris says his team and defense will take a more hybrid approach this fall under the new head coach, and all players should benefit from that, especially James.
