Good News: Talented Quarterback Follow Kalen DeBoer To The Program ……
There hasn’t been much positive news for the Alabama Crimson Tide the last week. A swarm of players flooded the transfer portal following Nick Saban’s retirement. But there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Some players from Washington will probably follow new head coach Kalen DeBoer into his coaching staff. Austin Mack, a young quarterback with a ton of promise and a former quarterback for the Washington Huskies, announced his commitment to the program.
Mack quickly decided to accompany DeBoer to Tuscaloosa. Although the former Huskie has poor measurables, he is a raw prospect. With his 6-foot-6 height and 230 pounds, this young guy might be something remarkable in a few years. He will require a great deal of instruction at just 17 years old, and it seems he enjoys being around DeBoer. In the future, he will also have the opportunity to start for one of the top collegiate football teams.
In 2024, this won’t benefit the Crimson Tide. As a backup, Mack is too inexperienced; Jalen Milroe is the starting. Seeing potential, DeBoer hopes to develop him into the next quarterback. Interestingly, there have been rumors of several former Washington players committing to Texas. It is common for them to refuse to follow their coach to the new program. With all of the coaching changes, there is still a lot to learn about the transfer portal.
